On 2nd April 2026,  Atacama Consulting Foundation (ACF), the social impact arm of Atacama Consulting 🍃👷🏾‍♀️🦺, with generous support from the PUM Hans Blankert Fund, took another major step following last month’s project launch by further advancing the formalisation and empowerment of informal waste collectors in Kinawataka, Nakawa Division, Kampala Capital City, Central Uganda.

During an inspiring orientation session held at Lifeline Church Premises in Kinawataka, we:
✅ Brought together three women and youth‑led waste collector groups (45 members).
✅ Issued Certificates of Registration after completing their formal registration as Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
✅ Highlighted the upcoming support in safety training and provision of protective gear.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to safer working conditions, reduced health risks, and recognition of the essential role that waste collectors play in tackling plastic pollution every day.

Together, we are shaping more resilient, dignified, and community-driven waste management systems.
